Encompass
Operation Encompass is a national safeguarding initiative that works in partnership with schools and local police forces. Its purpose is to ensure that when a child or young person experiences domestic abuse, the school is informed before the start of the next school day. This timely sharing of information allows the school to provide immediate, confidential, and appropriate support to the child.
At PMGHS, our Designated Safeguarding Lead and Deputy Leads are trained as Key Adults in the Operation Encompass procedures. This means they can act quickly and sensitively to ensure that our students feels safe and supported in school.
The Domestic Abuse Act 2021 recognises children who experience domestic abuse as victims in their own right. By being part of Operation Encompass, we are committed to offering the best possible care and support to our pupils during difficult times.
