Preston Muslim Girls High School celebrates its excellent record of academic success with yet another set of exceptional GCSE Results

The students of Preston Muslim Girl’s High School are celebrating success in their GCSE results. Once again, the school has maintained its very high standards with a 100% pass rates in many subjects and some outstanding results for individual students. Special congratulations go to Aamina Khan, Faheema Desai and Anisah Zakariya-Hill who between them have netted 38 grades at A and A* equivalence. Well done to them!

This year also saw the introduction of reformed GCSEs in English and mathematics, the replacing of letter grades with the new number grading system and the introduction of the new top grade 9, representing the very highest performance. It is expected that only the top few percent of students in the country will achieve grade 9s in English or Mathematics. PMGHS are delighted with the 8 grade 9s achieved, with Huda Abid and Sadiyah Vaez both achieving grade 9s for English Language.

For the last three years PMGHS has been recognised as being amongst the top 100 non-selective state schools in the country and was awarded an Outstanding grade by Ofsted when they visited the school in November. These results continue to demonstrate the high standards that the school achieves year on year.

The Headteacher, Mufti Javid, said, “I would like to congratulate all the girls on their hard work and application.  PMGHS is nationally recognised for its high standards and these pupils have had to work exceptionally hard for what they have achieved.  I am certain that their excellent GCSE results and all round education will equip them well for future successes. A special thanks to all of the staff and parents as well for their dedication and belief. We know how important this partnership is in ensuring that our pupils achieve and often exceed their potential. Well done to them all!”
