Welcome to Preston Muslim Girls High School, a progressive, successful and deeply caring establishment where our aim is to provide an excellent academic education within the structure of the national syllabus. At the same time, however, we also strive to help each and every individual girl to develop her own character and achieve her personal potential and ambitions through a deep appreciation of her deen (Islam). Supported by our own Tarbiyah programme we promote Islamic morals and manners for all our students on their journey to becoming valued members of society.
PMGHS was established in 1989 and thanks to our outstanding success and reputation within the community we were delighted to recently re-locate to our brand new superbly equipped building close to the centre of Preston. Our school assures a warm and welcoming learning environment where every student feels truly part of our inclusive family. In 2011 we also became the first school of our type in Lancashire to be awarded Voluntary Aided status (funded by the state, but owned and run by our own trust). If our building and educational infrastructure is impressive, then our academic success and achievements are even more so. In 2011 our school achieved an exceptional 88% 5A* – C grades and an unbeatable 100% in English Literature; with English Language, Religious Studies and Urdu achieving 96%.
That is impressive proof that PMGHS provides not only the finest learning environment for your daughters, but it is also the best for educational achievement.
Please feel free to browse our website where we have tried to incorporate as much information as possible for prospective pupils and their parents. If you have any further questions you would like to ask us, or if you would like to visit our school to view our facilities and experience our unique learning environment, please do not hesitate to contact us.
You will be made most welcome.
